Ideally your pet\u2019s gums should be a light pink and any unusual colouring may point to signs of illness.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Check your dog\u2019s anal glands but consult an expert if needed<\/h2>\n

One of the main reasons for grooming your pet may be the unpleasant smell they have started to give off. Whether you have just returned from a long muddy walk or you just haven\u2019t had the time to bathe your pet in a few weeks than it is normal they will start to kick up a bit of a stink.<\/p>\n

This is because some dogs have chronic problems with their anal glands<\/a> which can also give off a pretty nasty smell. To check whether your pet has an issue related to their anal glands it is best to check under their tail while grooming them. Just by doing this you may be able to locate the smell immediately, it is also worth checking for anything out of the ordinary. If you do have concerns related to your dog\u2019s anal glands then it is best to consult a professional groomer who can assist you with the issue or even visit your veterinarian.<\/p>\n
