At Petsies, we’re all about celebrating the love we share with our pets, and sometimes that love means rolling up our sleeves to help animals in need. Our very own Scott Meier, CEO, recently joined The Sato Project and Wings of Rescue on a life-changing mission to give hundreds of dogs and cats a second chance at life.
“These heroic rescues are part of the everyday mission of The Sato Project and Wings of Rescue. I’m honored we could participate and am looking forward to doing more together!” said Meier.

A Mission of Hope
In Puerto Rico, thousands of homeless dogs, known locally as satos, and cats struggle to survive on the streets. That’s where The Sato Project steps in. Founded by Chrissy Beckles, this incredible nonprofit is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming abandoned animals, while also working to reduce overpopulation through community spay/neuter initiatives.

To bring these rescued pets to safety, Wings of Rescue provides a vital service: safe, reliable air transport for at-risk animals. Their volunteer pilots and flight crews have flown tens of thousands of dogs and cats out of crisis situations and into the loving arms of adoptive families.

100 Lives Changed
This month, Petsies CEO Scott Meier personally joined these two inspiring organizations to help fly 100 rescued dogs and cats from Puerto Rico to the U.S. mainland, where each one will soon find a forever home. From boarding the pets onto the plane to ensuring they were safe and comfortable during the journey, he was hands-on every step of the way.

Proud to Be Part of the Mission
We believe every animal deserves love, comfort, and security. That’s why our whole Petsies team is so proud that we could be part of this mission of compassion. Supporting organizations like The Sato Project and Wings of Rescue reminds us why we do what we do: to honor the bond between pets and people, and to celebrate the joy they bring into our lives.
We’re endlessly inspired by the work of these organizations and grateful to everyone who gives their time, energy, and heart to helping animals in need. Together, we can make the world a kinder place for pets everywhere.
