Personalized Gift Giving
Why Giving Custom Gifts is Good for you

Taking the time to search for the right gift requires a lot of work, is stressful, and requires a big monetary investment, right? Well, not anymore.
Customized products offer the option to create gifts that are suited to your favorite person’s personality and hobbies. The old saying is true, it really is “the thought that counts.” You don’t have to settle for something that you ‘think’ they may want, you can craft something exciting and thoughtful especially for them.
Gift Giving Today
In recent years, personalized gifts have become a major global industry. A survey of more than 1,000 online shoppers conducted by Bain & Co. found that 25-30% of people are interested in new online customization products.
Large brand name companies are getting in on this trend because it shifts the ownership of the product to the customer. Deloitte research found that at least 1-in-3 consumers want the ability to personalize their products. It is exciting to create your own product and become part of the process of developing your gift.
In a survey of more that 3,000 adult consumers in the U.S. and UK by digital marketing agency AgilOne , more than 70% of consumers said they would want more personalized experiences with the companies whose products they buy. Brands are expected to show their followers that they care and allow them to customize their products and experience. In fact, in a study by Forrester, “More than 35% of U.S. online consumers are already interested in customizing product features or in purchasing build-to-order products that use their specifications.” This is great for gift givers worldwide that want to show their thoughtfulness.
Customization is the perfect option for all generations, because despite difference in experience and preference, both young and old enjoy the process of making their own product. It always feels good to incorporate personal details into a gift for someone else that a large brand would never know, and you always know that your gift is completely unique.
Gift Giving and Your Health
You might be surprised to hear that giving gifts has health benefits that can influence our everyday lives. A 2008 study found that giving money or gifts to someone else lifted participants’ happiness and moods more than spending it for themselves.
Giving a gift without expecting anything in return is the core of altruism or “paying it forward”. When we do something kind of perform a good deed for someone it often has a ripple effect that can trigger similar acts of kindness in others. When we witness someone helping another, it can inspire us to act in a similar way. When you give a gift you make the world a kinder place to live in.
When one person behaves generously, it inspires others to behave in that same manner later, toward other people. This creates a wonderful domino effect of giving that could influence a large amount of people from a small act of altruism.
Gift Giving and Your Relationships
When you get down to it, everyone loves gifts! Gifts have a unique warmth to them and everyone who has been gifted knows the feeling. A recent study found that expressing gratitude to a close friend or romantic partner strengthens our sense of connection to that person. Giving gifts is a surprisingly complex and important part of building human relationships. It helps to define relationships and strengthen bonds with family and friends.
Givers often seek out gifts that relate to others’ most distinctive traits and characteristics. This helps the other person to feel valued and helps the relationship grow. Personalized gifts are, without a doubt, more thoughtful and special than generic gifts. It is so much better to pick something that costs little time, effort and money, to get an awesome personal gift from the comfort of your home.
